Keynote Speaker

Walden University’s 66th Commencement will feature Walden alumnus, Dr. Cynthia Hickman.
Dr. Hickman is an author, speaker, nurse educator, and caregiver advocate with more than 30 years of experience in nursing and leadership. She retired in 2013 from St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston as an acute-care cardiology case manager to become a full-time caregiver to her mother.
Hickman draws on her experience of being a caregiver in her blog and in her podcast, Your Proactive Caregiver Advocate. She has also written two books on the subject. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Nursing Education and a PhD in Health Services with a specialization in Leadership, both from Walden.
